Storage of fuels and adhesives KIA Motors

KIA Motors

Challenge and project:
KIA required sufficient capacity at its site in Zilina, Slovakia for the storage of fuels and adhesives at various locations in production. All legal requirements had to be met. The storage units needed to be explosion proof and fire resistant. Flexibility, mobility and saving space were also important requirements for this customer. The equipment also had to be silicone free, so that paint coatings were not damaged.

The solution:
DENIOS supplied seven fire-rated module containers with 90 minutes fire resistance for both internal and external fire sources. The containers were 19.69 feet long with a door height of 9.84 feet, allowing optimum loading with drums and IBCs. Ventilation equipment, Ex protection, special cut off devices and fire sensors were all provided.Result and benefits: The use of DENIOS fire-rated module containers ensured safe, legally-compliant storage of materials near the point of use, which the customer could access quickly, saving time and money. The container's mobility ensures flexible installation even if production facilities are reorganized.
