A gas cylinder is a pressure vessel. It is suitable for storage and transport of pressurized gases. Gas cylinders are almost emblematic of dangerous contents and hazardous substances. When dealing with gas cylinders, there is an obligation to handle, transport and store them safely and legally.
As well as the correct and safe storage of gas cylinders, the safe transportation of gas cylinders both on and off the premises is extremely important and has special requirements.
As a specialist for all issues relating to hazardous material storage, DENIOS US has developed a tried-and-tested product range for the handling of gas cylinders. From gas cylinder dolly constructed from either steel or polyethylene, gas cylinder pallets to wall brackets and gas cylinder stands: all products for gas cylinder handling have been tried and tested and stand out due to their versatility in everyday production operations.
Gas cylinders can be a significant hazard if handled improperly. The most common causes of accidents involving gas cylinders include:
Tearing off the valve
Since the valve is the weakest point of a gas cylinder, its protection with a valve protection cap is an absolute must. If a gas cylinder is damaged by tearing off the valve so that its pressurized content escapes abruptly, it can turn into a veritable projectile and thus penetrate concrete walls.

Uncontrolled escape of gas
In the case of valves that are not completely closed or small leaks, gas can escape unnoticed from a gas cylinder. In the case of flammable gases, explosive gas mixtures can thus be produced, for example, which are very light, e.g. B. by the operation of a light switch to be ignited. Depending on whether the gas has a higher or lower density than air, the danger is highest either in basements or attic rooms.

Burns with pure oxygen
Pure oxygen is a huge fire-accelerant. The valves of oxygen cylinders must therefore not be greased or oiled. When handling oxygen cylinders, always use clean, oil-free tools. When pure oxygen is released into the environment, other objects may also ignite, especially if they are oily or dusty.
DENIOS provides its customers with a comprehensive product portfolio to ensure safe gas cylinder handling. The safe transport on and off the premises brings with it special requirements. All DENIOS products for gas cylinder handling have therefore successfully passed the practical test and are characterized by versatility in everyday operations.
Gas cylinder handling products include metal or plastic gas cylinder wagons, gas cylinder transport racks for forklifts and transportable gas cylinder pallets, wall brackets and gas cylinder stands.
